The amazing Modern Assembly “Fashion Week in Las Vegas,” at the Venetian Sands Expo was our very first official “2some Mission.” This huge event is world's most exciting men's, women's clothing and accessory brands expo, a great place for all upcoming brands to get a feel for their competitors, gain resources for better business, and an ideal opportunity to network with all the creative and like –minded individuals hustling to make it to the top. Let's keep it real though; any excuse to visit Vegas will do for us ;).
On our first day we visited the Liberty Fairs Show, which is one of three shows at the Modern Assembly conference. Liberty was more of a “cut and sew” show that had an upscale industrial and hipster vibe. The best part about Liberty was the environmental design and 20ft. graphic moon installation that hung from the ceiling with just enough room to hang out below for a perfect photo opportunity. The entire shows concept was centered around space and astronomy, lots of white with grey tones and extremely textural. We could dig it.
On our second day we attended the highly anticipated Agenda Show, which was full of street wear, all of the urban brand heavy hitters like New Era, Mitchelle And Ness, Diamond Supply Co., and Jason Markk, to name a few. But on the other hand it was also the home of expressive graphic tees that we weren’t too fond of. Don't get us wrong though; there were some amazing brands like the Canadian brand “Halfwits,” that we fell in love with. They presented simple garments with unique patterns and good craftsmanship. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the vibe, got introduced to some extremely passionate brands and left with the coolest "swag" bags made by Herschel Supply Co.
The last day of our mission came around and we decided to head to the Capsule Show which turned out to be our favorite out of the three shows and potentially where we would want to see 2some's products presented. Capsule felt like home. It was centered around urban chic clothing, mixed with repurposed vintage gems and jewelry that was adorned with the finest of details.
At the end of day, out of all 200 or so brands that we visited, we were most taken back and interested in the display at the ’47 Brand booth. If I could best describe the booths of the larger brands, we would say they defiantly felt like invitation only mini clubs jam packed with industry leading men and women of fashion. Although, there was plenty of extremely nice set ups, we left the expo with the captivating spinning floating "Black Fives" hat displays of 47’ Brand stuck in our heads. If we didn’t do a good enough job explaining what that looks like, we have got you covered with a short clip that can be seen below.
We had a great time, met plenty of wise and influential people, and most importantly we can't wait to attend and potentially participate in The Capsule Shows across the globe.
