By far my favorite everyday look has to be “Sporty.” Growing up as a “Tomboy,” playing all the sports my mother could get me enrolled in, and having no care in the world for the color pink; keeping up the sporty look was definitely not an issue. For a while I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. The sporty look was something that I could easily identify with and no doubt that all the “sport like” options are super comfortable. Because I played sports, I developed a love for shoes really early. You were not going to have a flyer pair of cleats then mine, no sir! These days you can’t even go to the nearest shopping center without seeing a black pair of tights and some comfortable Nikes in LA. People really believe that we only have workout clothes in our closets…shame. As I grew older, I learned how to pair sporty items with more everyday clothes. This stage in my life was and is my sweet spot. If you’re anything like me, you don’t mind rocking different brands like Nike and Adidas, and you have no shame in pairing a fresh pair of shoes with a more casual look for a day of exploration. A lot of the people that I look towards for inspiration do a contrasting sporty look with ease and I give them props for it. It may seem super simple but I think it really has to do with your personality and how your choices project your style to the people around you. There are a couple dope bloggers or Instagram feeds that you can follow that do this look well. Have no fear in style, sport it like you mean it. And if anyone questions you about what you have on, remind them you’re in California and we do what the hell, when the hell we want. Ha!
