Many of you may not know me personally, but for those who do, know that I have had to overcome many obstacles to get where I am today, all the while managing to keep a smile on my face. Fake it till you make it right? Lokai is balance. Lokai is for when you're head over heels in love one day, and get dumped by your boyfriend the next day. Lokai is when you feel on top of the world because you're about to graduate college, but then remember you're in a shit ton of debt. Lokai is working out 5x a week, but eating a cheeseburger with animal fries for your cheat meal. Lokai is work hard, play hard (like the Wiz Khalifa song). Lokai is loving something with every inch of your soul, but having the strength to walk away from it (window shopping; story of my life).
Some of you may ask "What do the black and white beads on the bracelet symbolize?" The White bead on the bracelet is filled with water from Mt. Everest, to symbolize when you're at the highest point in your life, and the black bead is filled with mud from the Dead Sea, to symbolize the lowest part of your life. No matter what kind of day I'm having, I can always count on my Lokai Bracelet to lift me up and remind me that life isn't always the happiest place on earth, but its also not consistently difficult and gloomy. As the old adage goes "This too shall pass" and "Better days are approaching" according to my fortune cookie.
I purchased my Lokai bracelet a couple weeks after a hectic period in my life. Like the founder of Lokai, my grandmother had also been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and had recently passed away. Once I had noticed the common thread I felt an instant connection with not only the product, but the inspiration that sparked the idea of this motivational bracelet. When I look down at my Lokai bracelet, I am reminded to stay humble in times when I feel like I'm "Ballin," and to stay hopeful, keep the faith, and know that there is nowhere to go but up when I feel like I have hit rock bottom.
Lokai is whatever you want it to be. So go out there, get yourself a Lokai bracelet, and remind yourself to enjoy every struggle and every success in the balancing act we call life.
Stay Humble && Hopeful,
Mel
