Baby Let's Getaway!

Getaway.

In the midst of the everyday Los Angeles “Rat Race” I feel like it’s a necessity to just get away! It’s summer and we all naturally want to bottle up our issues and dilemmas, put a cork in it, and toss them in the nearest body of water never to be seen again. The summer is naturally a family vacation season, but those of us who don’t sit atop a large lump some of money that will take us to a far away Italian beach; need a getaway a little closer to home and a fool proof game plan. With that in mind, I have put together a couple tips and options that are summer centric and budget friendly. So lets get started…

  1. The best “Getaway” is spent with the people you love, and of course get along with. So, leave that friend that constantly complains and or the cousin that you can’t necessarily stand at home!
  2. Getaways go hand in hand with bomb food! If you’re anything like Melissa and I… you’ve done your homework on where to dig in. You already have the best eatery in mind with a good back up, or you’ve jam packed a picnic basket with all of your favorite goods artfully prepared.
  3. Make sure you dress the part. If you know the weather isn’t looking good then grab a lightweight jacket with spare options for lesser-prepared compadres. The perfect outfit with audible components is clutch for a long day out in about.
  4. Don’t forget the activities! It’s okay to fly by the seat of your pants sometimes and often that kind of day is just what one may need. I’m just saying; if you know you’re going to a place where you need to provide your own entertainment, don’t forget the items that will keep you occupied. Everyone loves to relax with a good planner.
  5. Last but not least, remember to enjoy yourself. Whatever your own personal getaway may be, take the time to embrace the moment…tomorrow is never promised.

Some of my favorite budget friendly getaways are hella cliché, but who cares…whatever floats my boat at the moment! Peep some of my favorite spots below…

I don’t know about you, but Mel and I are super picky about the shades we decide to rock with. You'd be surprised how many archived photos we have of Mel in her “signature” blue and gold Ray-Bans. Classic brands like Ray-Bans have a cult like following, as do most of the popular brands for this year that you can find any day in your closest Nordstrom. I have been braving the sun rocking a bare face for quite some time now, but I have finally found a good group of shades to choose from for this summer. Naturally, I gravitate towards a classic black-framed wayfarer, but after leaving agenda I have opened my eyes to newer, better, and edgier frames by lesser-known brands that are killing it on a international level. It is obvious that sunglasses are an everyday asset in most of our lives and that makes them the ultimate statement piece and clutchest accessory for the summertime in California. Below are some of the options that I have been juggling; I hope to get my hands on more than one of these beauties!
